OrthoLife

Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of the OrthoLife app and this website, both provided by Carinex AB.

The service

OrthoLife is an app for Orthodox Christian devotional life: Scripture, the church calendar, prayers, and teaching from the Fathers. Parts of it are free; parts require a subscription.

Your account

You need an account for anything tied to you personally — your subscription, your saved verses, the parish chat. Keep your login details to yourself; you are responsible for what happens under your account. You may delete it at any time from inside the app.

Subscriptions and payment

Premium is sold as an auto-renewing subscription through the Apple App Store and Google Play. Payment is charged to your store account at confirmation of purchase.

A subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the period. Manage or cancel it in your App Store or Google Play account settings — we cannot cancel it for you. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.

Refunds are handled by the store you bought it from, under its own policy. Your statutory rights as a consumer under EU and Swedish law are unaffected.

Content and use

Scripture translations, patristic texts and other material in the app are used under the rights available to us and remain with their respective holders. You may use the content for personal devotional use. You may not republish it commercially or scrape it in bulk.

In the parish chat and the news feed, write as you would speak in church. No harassment, no hatred, nothing unlawful. We may remove content and close accounts that break this.

What the app is not

OrthoLife supports your spiritual life; it does not replace your priest, your confessor, or your parish. It is not medical, psychological or crisis care. If you are in danger or in crisis, contact emergency services on 112 (in Sweden) or your local equivalent.

Availability and liability

We work to keep the service running but cannot promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited under Swedish law.

Changes and governing law

We may update these terms; material changes will be announced in the app. These terms are governed by Swedish law, and disputes are heard by the Swedish courts. As a consumer you may also turn to the National Board for Consumer Disputes (ARN).
